Music Hall, 1889

One of my favorite buildings on campus, Music Hall has served a number of roles in its 130+ years.

It was used as part of the student center during my years on campus in the 1990s. Originally it housed the School of Music, which had its own degree program prior to 1900.

This photo is from an 1889 book, Views of Wellesley, that I treasure. I love how bare the surrounding landscape is; this photo was taken within a few years of the building’s completion.
